Dry needling is also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling, used for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome.
Stressed or injured muscles often form trigger points that feel like tight knots in the muscle tissue.
Dry needling is a technique used to assist in the release of muscle tension and pain.
Massage therapy and dry needling often go hand in hand, as part of a holistic treatment solution.
Dry Needling, or intramuscular stimulation (IMS), uses the same thin needles commonly used in acupuncture. The technique involves inserting needles through the skin and into muscles that contain knots. Dry Needling targets these knots to trigger a release of tightness and pain. Dry Needling is technique used as part of a larger treatment plan, which can reduce muscle spasms, improve blood flow, decrease pain, release neurotransmitters and improve movement.
